Therapy FAQ
How
Can Bio-Identical Testosterone Hormone Replacement Treat Andropause?
This
depends a lot on the unique characteristics of the individual,
including height, weight, age, life style choices, and genetics.
Andropause, the male form of Menopause, is caused by Low Testosterone
and Human Growth Hormone levels in men. Testosterone Levels begin
declining in men at around age 27 to 30; it can be unhealthy for men
to have Low Testosterone.
There are
studies that show that a high percentage of men that have early heart
attacks or cardiovascular disease also suffer from Low Testosterone.
Too much or too little Testosterone works against your body, the goal
is to find the optimal levels for the therapeutic replenishment of
Testosterone utilizing Testosterone Injections, Creams, Patches, or
other forms of treatment.
Men with
Andropause experience many of the same symptoms as women with
menopause:
These are
just some of the symptoms of Andropause, and at some point, every
single living man will hit his own personal wall! Contact us today,
we can set you up to get a blood test locally in your city and have
those results reviewed by one of our Hormone Replacement Therapy
Doctors, who will then make recommendations about what you need to do
to reach the optimal zone for Testosterone.

Testosterone
Levels brought to a healthy range can reduce or eliminate the
symptoms of Andropause and help men recapture their sex drive,
endurance, and passion for life. Low Testosterone no longer has to be
a part of aging! Contact us to find out the next step for you to
achieve optimal levels with one of our Testosterone Replacement
Therapy Programs.
How Are
Testosterone Levels Raised to a Healthy Level Using Testosterone HRT?
There are
a number of highly effective ways to restore Testosterone. Two of the
most common methods are Testosterone Creams and Injections.
Testosterone Creams are easily absorbed through the skin directly
into the blood stream, and it's a very smooth way to put Testosterone
into your body.
A second
common means of Testosterone Hormone Replacement is with Testosterone
Injections. Both methods are effective and viable. Injectable
Testosterone is sometimes described as more dramatic, and
Testosterone Cream tends to be described as a slow, steady upward
path towards optimal health. Contact us to discuss which one is best
for you and co-create a program to reach your optimal health and
overthrow Andropause. We also have a number of other treatment
options available, including Testosterone Patches, Sublingual
Testosterone, and Testosterone Sprays.
When Do
Testosterone Levels Start to Decline?
Testosterone
Production starts to decline when men reach the age of 27 or 28.
After age 30, Testosterone Levels drop by about 10 percent every 10
years.
Some men
may notice the effects of declining Testosterone when they are 30 to
35, and many men over the age of 40 have Low Testosterone levels.
What
Are the Symptoms of Andropause?
There are
many symptoms of Andropause. The most common ones are listed below:
Erectile
Dysfunction
Hot
Flashes or Night Sweats
Depression,
or Grumpiness
Irritability
and Mood Swings
Bone
Loss and Frailty
Decrease
in Energy and Motivation
Increased
Body Fat around the Midsection
Muscle
Loss
Low
Sex Drive
Other
Quality of Life Issues
What is
Human Growth Hormone?
Human
Growth Hormone (HGH) stimulates growth and cell reproduction. HGH may
be prescribed with Testosterone Treatment if you have Low HGH levels,
which will be determined through an IGF-1 test. Low Levels of HGH can
cause loss of muscle mass and an increase in body fat, among numerous
other symptoms that can negatively impact your life. If you would
like to know more about Human Growth Hormone Restoration, call us and
ask us about Sermorelin Acetate Therapy and HGH Hormone Replacement
Therapy Regimens.
What is
a PSA Test?
PSA Test
stands for a Prostate-Specific Antigen Test. A PSA test is used to
screen for Prostate Cancer as a safety precaution before Testosterone
Treatment begins. In the past, scientists hypothesized that high PSA
Levels caused by Testosterone Replacement could increase the risk of
cancer, but all research into the subject has provided evidence to
the contrary.
What
Percentage of Men Have Andropause?
An
estimated 90% of men over the age of 40 have Testosterone Levels
which are suboptimal. Unfortunately, only 5% of men with Low
Testosterone Levels seek treatment. If you suspect that you have
Andropause, you should get your Testosterone Production checked.
Is
Hormone Therapy Safe?
Numerous
studies in recent years have attested to the safety of natural
hormone replacement for men. In addition, Testosterone and HGH do not
cause cancer. Prostate cancer, for example, is caused mainly by
heredity, lifestyle, and the tendency of the male body to increase
Estrogen Levels as it ages.
I May
have Andropause. What Steps Should I Take?
If you are
experiencing any of the symptoms of Andropause, you should get your
Testosterone Levels checked. If you have Low Testosterone, a male
Hormone Replacement Therapy Program can bring your hormones back to a
healthy level. We can also test all of your hormones, including IGF-1
levels, and prescribe you a Growth Hormone Injection Program or a
Sermorelin Injection program. Contact us today for a free
consultation with no obligation.
How
Does Testosterone Hormone Replacement Therapy Restore Healthy Levels
of Testosterone?
Testosterone
HRT works by introducing Bio-Identical Testosterone to the body.
There are a number of means by which this is done, the most common of
which are Gels, Creams, and Injections. The Testosterone injected or
absorbed into the body is 100 percent identical to Testosterone
produced by the human body.
Of course,
the injection or absorption of foreign sources of Testosterone may
lead to a further reduction in endogenous hormone production, so
often, it is necessary to combine Testosterone Therapy with other
hormones and supplements so that the body is still able to naturally
produce Testosterone.
What
Are the Primary Means by Which Testosterone is Administered?
Testosterone
Cream Treatment
The four
most commonly used methods to administer Testosterone are Creams,
Gels, Patches, and Injections. With Testosterone Creams, the patient
applies the topical medication directly onto the skin, massaging it
in so that it may be absorbed by the body. Creams are available at a
variety of different strengths, generally between 1% and 10%
Testosterone. Creams are usually applied on a daily basis by
massaging it into the skin. If you do not feel that you can reliably
apply the cream each and every day on a set schedule, you may want to
consider Testosterone Injection Therapy.
Testosterone
Gel Treatment
Gels are a
second form of Testosterone Replacement Therapy. Gels are similar to
creams in that they are topically applied to the body. The primary
difference between Gels and Creams is the time it takes the body to
absorb them. Gels generally absorb into the body more quickly than
creams. Creams also create more of a mess than Gels. The difference
between the two is not a difference of effectiveness, but a
difference in ease of use.

Testosterone
Injection Treatment
The third
common method of administration is Intramuscular Injection. Whereas
Testosterone Cream is generally applied daily, injections are
administered weekly or biweekly. Testosterone Cream application
allows the body to maintain more normalized levels of Testosterone,
whereas Testosterone Injection may lead to flagging testosterone
levels as the week progresses. Both of these treatment options have
their pros and cons, but both are incredibly effective methods to
restore hormonal balance.
Some
patients find Testosterone Injections somewhat painful, and those who
are uncomfortable around needles would be better served by a
different method. Arguably, the biggest advantage of Testosterone
Injection is cost. Testosterone Shots are more cost effective than
any other form of effective Testosterone Treatment.
Testosterone
Patch Treatment
Patches
are a fourth means by which Testosterone Therapy is administered. A
patch containing active Testosterone is applied to the skin where the
hormone slowly enters the body over the course of the day. The patch
is changed out daily to mimic the body's natural hormone cycle. This
is a highly effective way to have a normalized inflow of Testosterone
across the day. Unfortunately, this is one of the most expensive
methods of Testosterone Therapy. Another disadvantage is that the
patch can sometimes agitate the area immediately around and
underneath the patch. Also, some people may not be comfortable with
the aesthetic of having a patch constantly exposed on the skin
Should
I Use Over-the-Counter Testosterone Boosters?
There are
supplements that purport to boost Testosterone that are available
from places such as General Nutrition Center, but we do not recommend
using these over-the-counter supplements without discussing it with
your doctor, because there are significant risks to using many of
these supplements.
Testosterone
Cypionate vs. Testosterone Enanthate
The
primary difference between the two types of Testosterone Injections
is the length of time it takes for the Testosterone to fully break
down and enter the blood stream. Testosterone Cypionate is made up of
the Testosterone Hormone linked to an ester chain comprised of eight
carbons. Testosterone Enanthate is linked to a chain of seven
carbons.
As the
number of carbons in an ester group increases, the water solubility
decreases, thus causing Testosterone Cypionate to take longer to be
absorbed into the blood stream. Testosterone Enanthate fully enters
the system in a week, while Testosterone Cypionate takes two weeks to
fully be absorbed. Essentially, other than the time it takes for the
body to absorb the load of testosterone, the two injections are
functionally identical.
At What
Age Do Men Begin To Have Lower Levels of Testosterone?
As men
enter their late 20s, hormone levels, including Testosterone, begin
to drop. The speed and extent to which this occurs is dependent upon
a number of factors such as genetics, lifestyle, diet, and weight. It
is very common for Testosterone Levels to be lower than ideal during
this age, and the younger that one becomes Testosterone Deficient,
the quicker Testosterone Levels tend to decline as they age further.
By the mid
30s, Testosterone Levels begin to drop more noticeably, and almost
all men have lower than ideal Testosterone Production by their 40s.
If you notice a physical decline in your 30s that you feel is the
result of Testosterone or Hormonal Deficiency, you would be well
served to contact the Conscious Evolution Institute.
What
are the Common Symptoms of Male Testosterone Deficiency?
Though
there are many more symptoms of Andropause, the most common are
listed below:
Difficulty
sleeping, sometimes accompanied by chills or sweats.
Depression—an
inability to experience the joys of life
Mood
swings and irritability—an inability to cope with the frustrating
aspects of life
Bone
degeneration and weakness
Loss
of motivation and energy
Weight
gain
Lack
of endurance; muscle atrophy and weakness
Decreased
libido
Other
issues which affect one's quality of life
Sexual
dysfunction, including but not limited to, premature ejaculation,
the inability to maintain a firm and erect penis, or total inability
to perform
What is
HGH?
In
addition to our popular and effective Testosterone Treatment, the
Conscious Evolution Institute also offers Human Growth Hormone
Replacement Therapy. We can provide Sermorelin Injections as well as
Human Growth Hormone Injections. Sermorelin Therapy and Human Growth
Hormone Therapy are similar, but there are two key differences. Human
Growth Hormone Therapy is stronger and usually produces more
noticeable results than Sermorelin, but Sermorelin is much cheaper
and is available as a generic Hormone Medication. Many argue that the
benefits of Sermorelin are more in line with the cost of the product,
but others want to maximize the results of therapy and prefer HGH.
Human
Growth Hormone is the catalyst our body uses to stimulate the growth
and development of our cells. An Insulin-like Growth Factor-1 test
can diagnose a Human Growth Hormone Deficiency. Human Growth Hormone
Levels are not easily measured in the body, but levels of IGF-1 in
the blood are linked to HGH Production, so IGF-1 tests are a useful
test to diagnose Growth Hormone Deficiency. Testosterone Deficiency
and HGH Deficiency often occur at the same time, and it is common to
be prescribed HGH Therapy concomitantly. HGH Deficiency can make the
body fat and muscle atrophy issues associated with Testosterone
Deficiency much more pronounced.
What is
DHEA and What Does It Have to Do with Testosterone?
DHEA is a
precursor hormone to Testosterone. This means that Testosterone is
derived from DHEA. DHEA is produced in the Adrenal Gland, and males
can then convert the DHEA into either Estrogen or Testosterone,
dependent upon the needs of the body. Abnormally low levels of DHEA
in the body can lead to depression, sexual dysfunction, and
osteoporosis. If it is determined that your hormonal imbalance is the
result of multiple hormonal deficiencies, your doctor may prescribe
DHEA so that the body can produce more of both or all of these
hormones. DHEA treatment will not be effective for men who have a
medical condition that prevents their body from manufacturing DHEA.
Estrogen blockers are often prescribed in addition to DHEA to limit
the amount of Estrogen created and maximize the amount of
Testosterone created.
What
Level of Testosterone Is Considered Normal?
The normal
range of Testosterone in the blood is between 260 and 1080 ng/dl.
Dependent upon age or other factors, you may not be producing enough
Testosterone, even if your levels are found to be within this range.
Especially for those patients that are younger, it is recommended to
maintain levels that are near the top of the spectrum. If your levels
of Testosterone are below 700ng/dl, you should definitely consider
Testosterone Hormone Replacement Therapy, because it is very likely
that Low Testosterone will have an adverse effect on your life
sometime in the future.
The PSA
test: What Is It and Why Is It Important?
The PSA
test is an acronym for the Prostate Specific Antigen test. This test
measures antigens that are produced when the body is fighting
prostate cancer. All of those who wish to undergo Testosterone
Hormone Replacement Therapy must be tested to make sure that they do
not suffer from prostate cancer, because prostate cancer can be
agitated and made more aggressive by Testosterone Therapy. For this
reason, those that have prostate cancer should never undergo any
therapy that boosts testosterone levels. Testosterone Replacement
Therapy does increase PSA Levels, but this increase is not associated
with any increased risk of cancer.
How
Many Men Will Potentially Suffer from Andropause?
It is
believed that 30% of men that are over 50 years of age suffer from an
Androgen or Testosterone Deficiency. Only one in twenty men seek
treatment for these deficiencies, however. If you believe that your
life is being affected by Andropause, don't be afraid to seek out
professional help. We here at Conscious Evolution Institute will do
everything we can to soften the effects of the aging process and help
you make the most out of your life.
Is
Testosterone Hormone Replacement Therapy Safe?
When used
correctly and under appropriate medical supervision, Testosterone HRT
is incredibly safe and the side-effects are minimal. Testosterone and
Human Growth Hormone do not cause cancer. A number of other health
factors such as lifestyle, heredity, and estrogen production are
largely responsible for prostate cancer.
What
Should I Do If I Display Symptoms of Testosterone Deficiency?
If you

What is
Testosterone?
Testosterone
is the primary male androgen. This hormone is produced primarily by
the Testes in males. Though it is considered by most to be the “male”
hormone, it is also produced in lesser amounts by the female body. In
addition to being the catalyst for the development of the male sex
organs in the womb, it is also essential in the phase of puberty.
Testosterone
floods the male body during puberty, inducing what are called
secondary sexual characteristics. Among these are the development of
facial hair and the deepening of the voice. As men age, Testosterone
no longer has a developmental function, but it is still a vital
component of a healthy life. It functions to regulate body fat and
enhance the growth and strength of the muscles. In recent years it
has even been found to be a major aspect of mood stabilization!
What
Effect Does Testosterone Deficiency Have on the Male Body?
Testosterone
Deficiency is one of the hallmarks of Andropause. As men age, they
begin to suffer the effects of flagging hormone levels. Andropause is
the male analog of Menopause. Though Andropause is a more gradual
occurrence, its effects can still be powerfully felt. It leads to a
slow but definite decline in mental and physical health.
In short,
Low-T leads to an alternative and inferior version of your self—a
version of you that is exhausted and unproductive. It's still you,
but the fire and the passion of life begins to dwindle. If you feel
like you just aren't the man you used to be physically, mentally, and
sexually, there is a very good chance that you are suffering from
Hypogonadism. Hypogonadism is a condition where particular hormones,
including Testosterone, are produced at insufficient levels.
Sometimes particular hormones stop being produced at all.
Is
Testosterone Replacement Therapy Effective?
Men who
undergo Testosterone Hormone Replacement Therapy to replenish
Testosterone lost to the aging process report that, with treatment,
they feel more motivated, more confident, and have a brighter outlook
on life. Testosterone Therapy has also been shown to make weight loss
easier to manage while encouraging the development of new muscle
tissue.
Though
there are benefits to taking Testosterone alone, plans which
incorporate a number of different therapy options are even more
profoundly effective. Many men choose to supplement their
prescription Testosterone Therapy with supplements that encourage the
production of Testosterone by the Endocrine System. Testosterone is
often paired with Human Growth Hormone Therapy or Sermorelin
injections to combat co-morbid HGH deficiency.
Diet is
also incredibly important to getting truly significant results with
Testosterone Hormone Replacement Therapy. It's not just snake oil;
the scientists who have devoted their lives to the study of hormones
are the ones proclaiming the powerful benefits of the youth hormones
Testosterone and Human Growth Hormone. Contact the Conscious
Evolution Institute today to speak with one of our clinically trained
Anti-Aging specialists.
More
Information about Testosterone Deficiency
Young men
have the ability to manufacture and absorb rushes of Testosterone up
to three times more effectively than a vigorous and healthy older
adult male. Levels of Testosterone tend to begin their decline as men
enter their late 20s. Testosterone Production by the Testes drops by
around one to two percent a year, and before you know it, you are
suffering from a potentially severe hormonal deficiency.
Testosterone
Deficiency is easily treatable, and our doctors at the Conscious
Evolution Institute can prescribe a Testosterone Hormone Replacement
Therapy that is suited for you. Testosterone Gels, Creams, and
Injections are all effective, as are many other treatments such as
Testosterone Sprays and Testosterone Dermal Implants.
Topical
creams tend to range in potency from 1% to 10%. There are two main
types of injections—Testosterone Enanthate and Testosterone
Cypionate. Testosterone Enanthate injections are received every week,
whereas Testosterone Cypionate injections are received biweekly.
Every age group has a particular level of Testosterone that is
considered normal, and the goal of therapy is to bring you into the
upper range of what is considered normal for you.
Low
Testosterone also has a significant impact on the prostate, bones,
and nervous system. There are significant risks to living with Low
Testosterone that can easily be reduced or eliminated with treatment.
The key symptoms which should alert you to potential issues with
Testosterone Deficiency are decreased libido, energy, and endurance,
along with mood instability and alarming changes in muscle-fat ratio.
Not All
Aspects of Aging are Inevitable
Though
aging is a natural process, many of its effects can be reverted or
postponed with proper Hormone Treatment. Upon treatment, many
patients purport to have experienced effects which make them feel
almost like they are a teenager again.
Why
Abusing Testosterone is a Bad Idea
Though the
effects of Testosterone Hormone Replacement Therapy can be
life-changing, it is important to note that more does not always mean
better. Taking too much Testosterone can be very dangerous, and, if
abused for a long period of time, can have devastating effects.
Symptoms
of Testosterone Abuse
A few
symptoms of Testosterone Abuse are moderate to severe anger
management issues, the appearance of blemishes on the face, and the
shrinking of the Testicles. Don't try to treat and diagnose yourself
without the help of a professional, and don't trust Black-Market
Testosterone Dealers. Only use a board certified clinic like the
Conscious Evolution Institute so that your deficiency can be properly
diagnosed and treated with little to no risk to your health.
We will
arrange to have your blood drawn so that we can do diagnostic tests
that can reveal the exact level of hormone treatment that is
necessary to restore you to hormonal homeostasis. A physician will
also be required to perform a physical so that we may be alerted to
any other underlying issues that you may be affected by.
Physician-Monitored
Bio-Identical Testosterone Hormone Replacement Therapy is the Key to
Resolving Low-T
With
proper treatment, you will find that your physical endurance and
muscle strength will improve as time passes. Testosterone Treatments
can also restore your sexual function as well as your desire. Just
because you're getting older doesn't mean that you have to hang up
the saddle.
Testosterone
Therapy also sharpens mental focus and enhances faded memories. You
will also notice that your outlook on life has improved and your
ability to accentuate the positive will be restored. Testosterone
heavily influences mood stability. In addition to this, the physical
and sexual changes that occur will encourage you to have a brighter
outlook. There are just so many benefits to Testosterone Hormone
Treatment Therapy that almost anyone with a Testosterone Deficiency
can reap some reward.
Testosterone
Replacement Therapy can also be extremely beneficial to heart health.
Healthy levels of Testosterone help the cardiovascular system
maintain healthy levels of good HDL cholesterol, while keeping LDL
cholesterol levels low. Proper cholesterol levels prevent heart
attacks and aneurisms, among other life threatening complications, by
preventing dangerous plaques from forming or breaking off into the
blood stream.
What
Are the Downsides to Testosterone?
One
problem with taking Testosterone Treatments alone is that
Testosterone can aromatize in the male body. This means that the body
breaks down what it considers excess Testosterone and converts it
into Estrogen. When the male body has too much Estrogen, a number of
side-effects can result. Libido can plummet, and the body begins to
retain water and unwanted fat.
Estrogen
can also change the configuration of the body. The Testicles can
shrink, and you may begin to develop breasts (a condition known as
gynocomastia). This is why it is incredibly important to take
Estrogen Blockers when undergoing Testosterone Replacement Therapy.
Arimadex is one of the most common types of estrogen blocker.
There are
also some Androgenic Side-Effects that can result from Testosterone
Treatment. Androgenic Side-Effects are those that are the result of
excess Testosterone or excess levels of other “male” hormones.
The intensity of Androgenic Side-Effects are largely the result of
the body breaking down Testosterone into its derivative
dihydrotestosterone, abbreviated DHT. Excess levels of DHT in the
body result in a number of unwanted occurrences, such as acne, oily
skin, excess growth of body hair, and male baldness.
Those men
that feel that they are at risk of developing male baldness and wish
to maintain their full head of hair as long as possible might want to
avoid Testosterone Hormone Replacement Therapy until a point where
their hair is no longer an issue.
Another
issue that occurs when undergoing Testosterone Hormone Replacement
Therapy is that the body begins to produce less Endogenous
Testosterone. With the flood of Testosterone entering the body, the
Endocrine System sometimes makes the decision that natural production
is not vital to the health of the body.
This issue
can be prevented or reversed, thankfully, by undergoing a
post-therapy hormonal regimen involving HCG and other medications.
These hormones and medications maintain an elevated level of
Endogenous Testosterone Production, and after therapy, stabilize
Testosterone Production. This works to prevent the oft-reported crash
in hormone levels that can occur after therapy is completed. This
crash can eliminate the physical and mental gains produced by
Testosterone Hormone Therapy.
Though
post-therapy treatments prevent the body from fully reverting to its
former state, a patient should expect to lose a slight amount of
muscle mass or gain a slight amount of weight after treatment ends,
especially if they do not follow a healthy diet and workout regimen.
As therapy ends, much of the fluid retained in the muscles will be
excreted. This should not be alarming—with proper post-therapy
treatment, the lean muscle fibers and muscle strength should mostly
be retained.
Who
Should Avoid Testosterone HRT?
It should
be noted that Testosterone Hormone Replacement Therapy is not right
for everyone. Those who suffer from prostate cancer place themselves
at extreme risk by undergoing Testosterone Replacement. Excess
testosterone can cause prostate tumors to develop and grow more
quickly. It is vitally important to take the Prostate Specific
Antigen (PSA) test before beginning therapy so that both patient and
physician can be 100% sure that prostate cancer is not an issue.
Those with
enlarged prostates should also be cautious with Testosterone. If you
suffer from Sleep Apnea, Testosterone Therapy can sometimes agitate
this condition. It should be treated before undergoing Testosterone
Hormone Replacement Therapy. Those who have abnormally thick blood
should also avoid Testosterone, because Testosterone leads to
increased red blood cell counts that can worsen the condition.
